Newbuilding Technical Support

SeaCrest Solutions (SCS) provides independent owner-side technical support for newbuilding projects, from design review and yard follow-up to site supervision, trials, delivery follow-up, and practical execution support.

Newbuilding projects require more than periodic attendance and document review. Owners need technically sound decisions, close follow-up, and practical control of execution from contract stage through delivery. SCS supports this process with first-hand experience in shipbuilding, project management, yard supervision, and technical coordination across different vessel types and shipyard environments.

Our role is owner-side and independent. The objective is to help owners protect technical and commercial interests, identify issues early, maintain visibility over progress and quality, and support delivery in line with contractual and operational expectations.

Core Support Areas

Design Review & Technical Follow-Up

  • Review of drawings and technical documentation
  • Owner-side input on design development and technical decisions
  • Follow-up of key technical issues affecting performance or operability
  • Support in maintaining alignment with project requirements

Site Supervision & Yard Monitoring

  • On-site technical supervision during construction
  • Progress monitoring and practical follow-up of yard execution
  • Quality-focused observation of critical stages and interfaces
  • Owner-side reporting and escalation of key concerns

Trials, Delivery & Follow-Up

  • Preparation support for trials and inspections
  • Attendance and technical input during trials
  • Delivery follow-up and close-out support
  • Practical assistance in transition from yard to operation

Typical Areas of Involvement

Depending on the project, SCS may support equipment and maker follow-up, technical clarification of outstanding items, coordination of site issues, owner-side review of technical deviations, and practical assessment of construction progress against the needs of the owner. The emphasis is on execution discipline, technical visibility, and sound decision-making rather than paper compliance alone.

Project Background

SCS experience includes end-to-end involvement in the construction of chemical tankers, product tankers, and bulk carriers across major shipbuilding centres, including substantial exposure to Chinese and Korean shipyards. This background supports a practical, technically grounded approach to project follow-up, issue resolution, and delivery support.
